Instructions for Downloading DrJava

NOTE 1: Please read and print these instructions before attempting to download DrJava.
NOTE 2: Make sure that you download DrJava AFTER downloading Java!
NOTE 3: You do not need administrator privilege to install DrJava.

1. Go to http://www.drjava.org/
2. Under "Current Stable Release", click the "Download Windows App" button. NOTE: The current stable release for DrJava is drjava-stable-20140826-r5761. This version supports Java 6, 7, and 8. The current stable release from the DrJava official site is constantly changing; the COSC labs may have a different version but the differences are minor.
3. Save the file, noting where the file is downloaded to.
4. Double-click on the downloaded file to run DrJava. (For convenience, create a shortcut on your desktop.)
5. If you get a message "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? ", then clear the checkbox in the lower left of the message window saying "Always ask before opening this file." The message will not appear next time you start DrJava.
